The Manager will be focused on identifying and evaluating strategic commercial initiatives. Working closely with the Director of Pricing, VP Finance – Sales & Pricing, and other senior leaders, the Manager will help formulate and execute the company’s commercial strategy across the business. The Manager will lead problem solving and opportunity evaluation, including strategic and financial analysis and the creation of business plans for high potential opportunities. In addition to commercial strategy development and communication, the individual will allocate at least 40-50% of their time to ongoing development of CDK Rewards Program and assist in leading the ongoing development of CDK commercial offerings. The individual will both lead project teams and individually execute projects, thereby utilizing a broad set of skills including issue and data analysis, problem solving, project management, and communication. The candidate will support specific price execution and price decisions. Candidate is expected to interpret data, gather competitive and market intelligence, win/loss information to analyze trends, identify outliers, and understand client utilization.

 

Specific responsibilities include:   

  • Developing an understanding of overall market, competition, and general industry performance, including key drivers of business and financial performance, competitor benchmarking, industry attractiveness and profitability, market and customer trends; be able to synthesize findings into insights and practical recommendations
  • Responsible for improving selling processes for Rewards loyalty program with internal systems, data analytics, and other CDK partners. Introduce additional “Sales Guidance” levers and prevent structural anomalies in discount framework
  • Develop detailed quantitative and qualitative analyses to advise Senior Executive team on strategic and operating issues and on potential impact of proposed strategic actions and operational changes
  • Create, write, and communicate recommendations to VP, Senior Executive Team and other Senior-level stakeholders
  • Create commercial strategy implementation roadmap and highlight potential new capability and resource requirements
  • Incorporate outside-in, customer perspective to ensure customer attitudes and values are understood. Leverage best practices and techniques from other industries to inform keys to success, risks and techniques for pricing / discounting / loyalty rewards models
  • Assist in reviewing operating performance across all lines of businesses, identifying potential issues and suggesting potential alternative commercial solutions backed by data and analytics
  • Partner with Sales and Contracting to improve processes for strategic rewards loyalty program. Monitor, track, and progress loyalty rewards deals from initial proposal through contract signing.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with MBA or equivalent experience (5-7 years post college) strongly preferred
  • Minimum 4 + years’ experience in one or more of the following: Pricing, Revenue management, Sales, Commercial Management, Finance, Trading & Business Development OR any other business related.
  • Experience in developing and executing loyalty programs and commercial strategies
  • Demonstrated strong quantitative and analytical ability, analytical and problem solving skills, including  financial analysis and modeling
  • Self-starting, team player capable of prioritizing own work and/or problems simultaneously
  • Used to working in complex and ambiguous environment that is fast changing
  • Structured, organized individual who is capable of handling multiple tasks and driving towards results
  • Ability to organize, lead, and motivate ad-hoc teams to drive towards completion of high-quality deliverables
  • Maturity and executive presence and ability to navigate and develop relationships at all levels in the organization
  • Strong oral and written communication skills – be able to synthesize complex and diverse information and distill down to the key “so what’s”
