SOX Business Process Auditor 


The position is responsible for delivering SOX compliance work assigned to the respective analyst. Exposure to Internal Audit, process reviews, SOP, and other risk management engagements is essential. The candidate should have experience in controls work paper documentation, report writing, root cause analysis, remediation and should be able to provide guidance to the other team members. Must be in a position to communicate independently with the stakeholders on the control observations, remediation plan and action plan. Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.



  • Chartered Accountant / CPA / MBA (Finance) - Preferred 
  • Understanding on the structure and the framework of the US GAAP
  • Should have a minimum of 3-6 years of experience 
  • Experience in accounting principles, accounting standards, and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
  • Internal audit, SOX compliance, Operational Risk Management, Compliance Risk Management. 
    Experience in IT Industry at a US based MNC in Internal Audit / SOX function would be a big plus.
  • Familiarity with Sarbanes Oxley requirements, Strong technical and analytical aptitude
  • Strong consulting, written and verbal communication skills
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
  • Experience with the creation and documentation of Sarbanes-Oxley controls
    Hands-on experience with Sarbanes-Oxley testing, including the development of remediation activities
  • Proven ability to prioritize work load, work effectively on concurrent tasks, and be able to meet project deadlines
  • Detail, analytical, good writing and interpersonal skills. Able to communicate well at all levels
  • Experience conducting, or providing evidence for audits and engaging with the external auditor



Job Description:

  • Assist management in defining the control objectives
  • Plan and execute internal testing cycles for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
  • Walkthrough end to end processes and controls. Perform operating effectiveness testing. Assess impact of risks and controls
  • Test key controls, Document or update key controls and changes thereof
  • Prepare or update flowcharts and changes thereof (Visio)
  • Review business process, organization changes and understand its impact on SOX controls from time to time
  • Identify gaps if any and communicate to business process owners
  • Provide recommendations and work with business on remediation
  • Track and follow up on remediation and retest for close out
  • Detail, analytical, good writing and interpersonal skills. Able to communicate well with all levels
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on key internal controls, procedures, and workflows
  • Any other jobs assigned by the SOX lead from time to time including assignments to other regions
  • Coordinate any external audits to facilitate the process of gathering any requested information and/or documentation
  • Team player and participative in all the work related discussions
  • Experience with re-performance of account reconciliations and journal entries
  •  Honesty/integrity: Does not cut corners ethically; does what is right and not just what is politically or practically expedient
  • Attention to detail
