The Field Service Technician II  is a field-based, customer-facing role that installs, services, maintains and modifies equipment at our customer sites. We take a holistic approach in solving our customers' toughest problems. Our Field Technicians represent the "Face of CDK" to the customer. This is based in the Las Vegas/Henderson area and normal territory will include as far south as Bullhead City, AZ and as far north as Cedar City, UT.  Including travel and assisting with installs and service work in other parts of the country.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements


  • Provide field service and customer care for dealership clients in the designated territory.
  • Perform routine and emergency service calls and MAC work (moves, adds, changes).
  • Perform software/hardware installations and upgrades on hardware and applications during regular and non-regular business hours.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve emergency and non-emergency service requests.
  • Proactively identify potential degradation in our clients' systems and equipment
  • Exercise good judgment in troubleshooting activities and when required escalate service issues to Technical Support for resolution.
  • Organize work assignments through a handheld iPhone app dispatch system.
  • Initiate contact with customers to confirm service requests and appointments, must adhere to established client SLA.
  • Complete all necessary administration for inventory, time reporting, and any CDK documentation.
  • Provide technical expertise and site specific knowledge to Sales team when required.
  • Participate in on-call service coverage and work the necessary overtime to meet deadlines.



Preferred Experience and requirements


  • Consideration will be given to someone who is new to telecommunications but possesses all other IT and networking requirements.
  • General knowledge of telecommunications equipment, systems and applications.
  • Excellent understanding of PC and server technology (hardware and OS)
  • Excellent understanding of Networking, LAN and TCP/IP.
  • Obtained or working towards CCNA (or equivalent) certification.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be physically able to lift, carry & transport heavy equipment greater than 50 lbs.
  • A valid driver’s license and driving record that meets CDK Global minimum insurance standards is required.
  • Ability to travel in the field 80-90%
