POSITION SUMMARY

The Network Solutions Managing Lead position leads a team of up to 15 project managers who provide a single point of contact for both customers and CDK internal groups on contracted IP Telephony and network install projects within CDK Services.

The Network Solutions team is responsible for interfacing with multiple internal and external groups to ensure that all stakeholders of the IP Telephony and network install are kept apprised of the status and that project dependencies (hardware, facilities, transport, software, resources, etc) are documented, coordinated, and aligned for success.

Direct activities in multiple areas of CDK Services. I.e.: Field Service, Network Engineering, Sales, Supply Chain, etc.

 

MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES of Team

 

  • Project management and team leadership, in a technical/telecom reseller environment

Focus areas:

  • Program/Project Management methodologies
  • Working Knowledge of Networking (IP, Routers, Switches, QOS, Content filtering &  Security, Wireless, WAN technologies)
  • Working Knowledge of Telecom Transport services
  • Working Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications products preferred
  • Working Knowledge of Broadsoft VOIP technologies preferred
  • Working Knowledge of Data Center environment preferred
  • Experience working as a consultant with customers
  • Experience using project management, database, word processor, and spreadsheet software application packages
  • Experience with process re-engineering preferred
  • Experience in systems integration with an emphasis on any of the following technology areas: Networking (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, NOS, Devices); Transport Services (T1, PRI, MPLS, Metro E, DSL, Cable, Fiber, Voice/Data) or Client/Server Architecture (Wintel, DNS, DHCP, UNIX, Databases)

 

 POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Travel:  this position may require some travel 10 - 25%
  • Must be able to work remotely 
  • The primary focus of this position is to supervise a team of Networking Solutions project managers
  • Strong attention to associate development, performance assessment, and driving installation standards in order to enable staff to deliver with excellence to maximize the dealership's efficiency, profits, sales, productivity and revenue
  • Partners with CDK teams to ensure resources are utilized optimally and addresses scheduling concerns, issues and conflicts
  • (Soft Skills/Technical Skills) identifying skill level gaps. Collaborate with Learning team to develop programs to meet associate needs. Schedule and oversee training programs for new and existing associates. Build Individual Development Plans (IDP) and conduct ongoing (quarterly) feedback sessions to insure progress. Identify future leaders and create appropriate development plans to insure bench strength
  • Establish a partnering relationship with Regional Management in order to stay abreast of the changing business climate. Complies with the company's vision, fundamentals, policies and procedures
  • Assist in establishing and drive deployment of installation standards throughout the organization
  • Create performance templates in TMS for each associate and communicate goals at beginning of performance year, discuss performance during one-on-ones (quarterly). Deliver annual performance review. Utilize the Associate Assessment Project Survey to gather feedback on associate performance. Create a plan to evaluate each employee on a regular basis
  • Monitors expenditures, approves merit increases, performs succession planning, controls expenses and maintain accurate records
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by management
