The Vehicle Service Sr. Architect is a hands-on architect position which will play a key role in making the overall strategy of the domain a reality.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end architecture vision & roadmap for the domain to support the overall transformation and modernization strategy for large-scale enterprise-grade solutions
  • Create and maintain architectural artifacts for the domain
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic advice / guidance on architecture / design across all tiers and layers from database to frontend for the teams in the domain
  • Ensure that uniform enterprise-wide architecture and design standards are maintained
  • Deliver on a fluid, end-to-end vision for how data will flow through the ecosystem to enable seamless, near real-time workflow integration, as well as support "big data" initiatives
  • Become an expert in the domain covered by our existing applications, and within our industry
  • Be hands-on, especially with initial/ongoing new implementation work
  • Conduct research/POC on relevant emerging technologies in support of solution development efforts and make recommendations
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analysis for proposed solutions to aid management in making implementation decisions
  • Design and create reusable components to be leveraged across various applications
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and analyze use cases to ensure architectural alignment with business needs and continually optimize data model / integrations for solutions in this domain
  • Ensure all non-functional aspects of solutions are addressed; including scalability, availability, security, maintainability and supportability
  • Continually monitor current state, business direction & technology trends to ensure the solutions direction is sustainable
  • Identify opportunities for technical innovation that add value and help prioritize the same with Engineering & Product leadership
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, continuous improvement, collaboration and innovation

Collaboration & Communication

  • With excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, be equally comfortable engaging with and presenting to senior stakeholders, including C-level, as well as software engineers
  • Work closely with architects from across the organization to ensure alignment with the broader technical strategy
  • Work closely with other platform and product teams/project management/release management that may be dependent on/impacted by changes in the platform scope or technical implementation

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant architectural experience with large-scale enterprise-grade solutions
  • A strong background in architecture/design and currently be working in a similar role, in a forward thinking and fast paced business
  • Experience defining future/target architectures, laying out migration paths and delivering against the plans
  • A good understanding of industry standards and best practice techniques to build and maintain architectures/designs for distributed solutions
  • Expertise architecting cloud native solutions
  • Experience with event design, event streaming & event driven architectures
  • Strong experience with scalability and proactive capacity management of enterprise grade solutions
  • Experience with database design
  • Experience working in distributed, fast-paced, agile led environments
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams
  • Tech skills:
    • Java/C#, Node.js, React, Redux, ES6, Hibernate / Entity Framework, SQL, NoSQL, Docker / Kubernetes, AWS / GCP / Azure

Preferred Experience

  • Automotive Vehicle Service domain knowledge/experience
  • Experience with Machine Learning and/or Data Science
