Position Summary

The Director, Shared Services(Quote to Cash), is responsible for helping to carry out the strategic vision for NA Quote to Cash (Q2C) team working closely with India Q2C and Controllership Organization. This role leads the Q2C operations and transformation/transition initiatives. Additional responsibilities include managing stakeholders, enforcing that process controls are strictly followed, ensuring quality assurance, identifying opportunities for process automation, and developing a strong performing team.


Position Responsibilities & Essential functions

  • Leads the Q2C operations in NA by setting up a high performing organization and managing a large team that will deliver to business expectations
  • Strong people leader who develops and motivates the team and ensures a strong performance management organization by continuous coaching for the teams
  • Actively works with HR and L&D to establish learning path and career path for Q2C teams and ensuring high engagement within the teams
  • Acts as the point of escalation for our NA business leaders for Q2C operations in North America
  • Works with global business and shared services groups to define standard KPI/metrics and Service Levels that support decision making for processes such as Contract entry/analysis, Contract Audit, Billing, Collection, Resolution, Accounts Receivable
  • Develops a strong cadence with business stakeholders to consistently evaluate the performance against targets, service levels, and makes appropriate adjustments to meet the requirements of the business
  • Partners with Sales, Implementation, and Business Transformation teams to identify and implement process and system improvements, driving continuous improvement as well as proactive response to ever changing business and industry needs
  • Leads and partners on development of Q2C working closely with India for reporting including daily/weekly/monthly dashboards, as well as executive management reporting for month/quarter end close requirements
  • Partners with Corporate Controllership and Record to Report organization to ensure effective implementation of new revenue accounting standards
  • Leads standardization of the processes across regions, development and maintenance of desktop procedures, policies and procedures for the department
  • Ensures strong process controls and no risks/significant observations during Audits (Sox, Internal Audit, External Audit)
  • Proactively identifies\ opportunities for continuous improvement and successfully manages these projects to contribute to the effectiveness of Q2C processes using lean six-sigma tools
  • Works with Finance and Technology partners to build/support technology implementation roadmap
  • Ensures all projects including financial metrics and key deliverables and a consistent communication plan for impacted teams and management         
  • Partners and contributes in bigger transformation projects like CPQ and ERP
  • Develops a balance score-card view
  • Travel 10-15%

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance
  • Experience of managing large multifunctional teams
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience including 8+ years of experience in managing large  Quote to Cash organizations
  • Extensive experience in Q2C processes including reviewing contracts, terms & conditions and contractual financial details and setting up Collection and Billing organization within North America
  • Previous relevant experience with full ownership of end-to-end processes
  • Expert knowledge of standard processes in  quote to cash, ability to drive standardization and process efficiencies
  • Experience in establishing operating framework through technology, MIS and governance to monitor response time and quality to response to queries and escalation from the business
  • Meticulous attention to details
  • Advanced level proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexible, adaptable, proactive and self-motivated
  • Flexibility to work in multiple time zones
  • Ability to work well in high pressure situations in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and manage numerous simultaneous priorities

Preffered Attributes & Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of accounting and financial processes and knowledge on ASC 606
  • Knowledge of large ERP system (i.e. Oracle, SAP, etc.)
  • CPA Certification
