These projects can range from 2 weeks to 4+ months (on average) depending on size and scope of the projects assigned. The PM is responsible for managing all Services related tasks on assigned projects from launch kick-off through project launch and deployment and works with the Project Team on all stages of the project lifecycle.

The PM will help ensure successful completion of the project according to the project plan and launch timelines and project expectations. The PM is also the primary point of contact for the Services teams and interfaces with corporate project teams for all scheduled activities and implementation tasks relating to assigned projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding and interpreting project scope, gathering business requirements (if applicable), review of functional specifications, developing project plans and timelines, planning and conducting regular Services project meetings for assigned projects, resource coordination, and preparing and completing required project documentation.
  • The PM must be highly proactive, taking ownership of the project issues and challenges impacting the Services group, overcoming obstacles, and completing assigned tasks on time as per project timelines.
  • The PM must also represent the interests of the Services group when working on assigned projects and drive open issues and feedback back to project teams and management as needed.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project planning and coordination
  • Interface with internal staff on project details, status, and requirements
  • Ability to respond professionally, patiently, logically, confidently and quickly to requests or questions received in person, via the phone or via email from both internal Service personnel, other CDK staff, and external OEM customer project teams
  • Performs intermediate level of business requirements analysis on assigned projects
  • Tracks and reports project-level success metrics, including issues tracking and resolution on a daily basis or as needed
  • Coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and communicates priorities among the project team as needed
  • Required to maintain diplomacy in all situations, and work with team members on issues resolutions
  • Manages project communication including project meetings, status updates, project messaging; including communications with other CDK teams and Senior leadership
  • Ensure completion of project deliverables and tasks with adherence to established timelines
  • Analyze and resolve issues that have the potential to jeopardize the ability to meet agreed upon deliverables
  • Proactively identify changes in work scope and ensure appropriate planning measures are taken with internal and external project team members to reassess and amend the scope of work requirement and timeline
  • Provide full and accurate project communication and messaging with the internal and external clients and vendors
  • Manage day-to-day activities of multiple assigned projects including coordination of cross-functional teams
  • Manage internal and external client expectations on all project requirements and deliverables
  • Identifies and drives resolution on assigned project issues impacting Services
  • Ability to lead project teams to achieve common goals


Secondary Functions:

  • Staying current on all CDK products and tools
  • Writing project documentation and maintaining documentation within assigned tools (e.g. knowledge management, project logs, etc)
  • Managing quality and assurance efforts specific to assigned projects and team initiatives
  • Supporting Project Manager Lead and/or team manager as necessary

Knowledge Areas             

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent education/experience
  • 2+ Years of demonstrated project coordination experience in a technical environment
  • 3+ experience using Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Basic understanding of Project Management methodologies
  • Ability to lead project teams to achieve common goals
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good business analysis skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, high tech environment
  • Results oriented and attention to detail
  • Ability to be highly proactive in overcoming obstacles to project success
  • Handle change well, and be a self-starter
  • Exceptional work organization skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

Duties are performed in an office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.  Duties require the manual ability to utilize a computer keyboard and the ability to read printed material.  Duties may require the ability to travel  25% via automobile or airplane.  Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside of normal working hours (holidays, evenings and weekends).
