The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will be responsible for providing development and support within the business intelligence team, to include:

  • Provide consultation to internal business units regarding best practices for reporting, analytics and information delivery
  • Consult with the internal business units and project teams to gather and translate requirements into technical specifications
  • Define data discovery and delivery solutions to assist both internal and external clients. 
  • Develop analytical and reporting endpoints, primarily using the Microsoft BI stack (SSMS, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, PowerBI)
  • Define and develop data frameworks, responsible for full automation of data movement, archival, auditing, exception processing and delivery of informational assets
  • Design and implement various data models to best support reporting and analytical processes
  • Develop analytical and reporting endpoints for internal and external clients.
  • Develop QA processes to further assist in evaluating process outcomes, data accuracy and completion.
  • Document internal/external data sources and processes within the data warehouse and business intelligence environments
  • Actively support ongoing efforts to consolidate reporting and analytics
  • Provide training to end users on various offerings developed by the business intelligence team
  • Provide mentorship to less senior team members in all areas of business intelligence and data warehousing
  • Function as an integral part of the cross-functional implementation team, serving as the Business Intelligence Team representative as needed. 
  • Advance improvement of quality, accessibility, and usability of all organizational and client data through injection of data governance principles and data quality processes.
  • Work as part of the cross-functional team to ensure a consistent flow of information technology products and services. 
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience desired.
  • Expert level development experience required in one or more of the following:
    • SQL Server (minimum version 2012), minimum of 5 years. 
    • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), minimum of 3 years.
    • SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) minimum of 3 years.
    • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), minimum of 3 year.
  • Demonstrate expertise with data warehouse development and architecture following Kimball based methodologies.
  • Have a demonstrated understanding of data governance and master data management principles.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Must be self-directed and able to function both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate advanced critical thinking and trouble-shooting capabilities to assess, prioritize, plan, and implement tasks and solutions effectively, including the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
  • Must be a team player with an ongoing desire to learn and share inside a cross-functional team environment.
  • Must be able to work in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, requiring occasional nights and weekends.
  • Additional valued skills, preferred but not required:
    • Microsoft PowerBI
    • Knowledge of CRM applications and/or the automotive industry is a plus.
    • Knowledge of Big Data concepts and/or hybrid data storage environment
    • Prior experience serving as team lead
