CDK Data Services is the automotive industries engine for automotive data. We collect, standardize, cleanse, enhance and serve data for Auto, Heavy Truck and Powersport OEM's, dealers, parts suppliers and the leading web marketing portals. If you've looked at a car online, ordered a part or gotten a reminder to change your oil, chances are you've seen our work. No other provider has more experience managing automotive retail data. We process data for nearly all of the dealerships in the U.S. and Canada. That's 23,000 dealerships and over 60,000 data connections every day. The modern retail automotive industry relies on our data collection, cleansing and enhancement. Without CDK Data Services, there would be no automotive web portals, no vehicle histories, no customer relationship management, and no parts locators. We fuel business intelligence for the entire industry.

 

Position Summary

The CDK Data Services Director of Sales is a quota carrying position that will be responsible for directly selling our data services to retail dealer technology vendors in the automotive industry. This position is key to selling our Data Services and will carry a multi-million dollar quota target. The role must be 100% focused on selling new business. The individual in this role will be actively selling in the field and adding to the 550+ applications in the CDK Partner Program.

                                                                                                                                             

This position will use best practices established for Data Services and increase sales that will continue to grow in size and scope with the business. The individual in this role must continue to exceed increasing annual sales targets while expanding knowledge, development and the implementation of best practices. The key challenge for this role will be achieving both of these goals.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Monthly focus on generating new business and quota expectations
  • Familiar with combo of long and short sales cycles
  • Individual contributor role but expected to work across multiple functional areas to develop and close net new business
  • Combination of daily site and phone meetings
  • Primary revenue responsibility for identifying and closing new sales within territory
  • Account planning and accurate quarterly revenue forecasting
  • Strong interaction at the CXO management level internally and within customer/prospect accounts
  • Understanding and selling solutions (ROI) for high level business problems, incorporating sales strategies across large multi divisional matrixed organizations
  • Operates under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.
  • Assists sales management in devising strategic account sales plans and strategies
  • Directs account teams toward collaborative sales efforts

 

Experience, Skills, Academic

 

  • Master's degree preferred, minimum of Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant industry experience
  • 10+ years' experience selling enterprise software services, preferably to the Automotive industry
  • Demonstrated experience executing a complex sales cycle closing deals comprised of software, services, and/or managed services with an average sales price in excess of $100,000
  • Strong track record of over performance in hunter role selling enterprise solutions
  • Highly self-motivated, enthusiastic, creative and independent
  • Influential; perceived by prospective client as credible and consultative
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills – both written and verbal
