Positions Summary:


The Director, IT Security Operations and Engineering will lead global efforts in IT security operations and engineering. This role will also be responsible for leading on Cyber and Internal IT Risk. The role is responsible for managing the cyber incident response and security engineering teams to enable proactive and reactive security services. The role works independently with IT and Business executives to identify global internal IT and hosting risks and provide consulting to reduce or eliminate those risks. The Director is expected to make decisions about the interpretation of the Security Program and how best to apply it to the respective business unit situation while assuring CDK that unacceptable risks are not taken. The Director will oversee the deployment of security tools, platforms, and integrations with datacenter and endpoint solutions. The Director is responsible for providing guidance during cyber security and crisis events that have the potential to have financial, brand, reputational or compliance impacts.


Key contributor, with accountability for researching, designing, implementing, and supporting information security and business practices.  Utilizes in-depth technical knowledge and business requirements to design & implement secure solutions and processes to meet customer / business needs while protecting CDK’s assets. Develops and implements security standards, procedures, and guidelines for multiple platforms in a diverse environment. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.


Position Responsibilities: 


  • Ambassador for the Information Security Program. Leadership and execution in reducing internal IT and Hosting Risk within CDK globally
  • Oversee Security Infrastructure (including IDS, IPS, Secure OS, Anti-Virus, Encryption,Firewall, etc.) Engineering. Security Infrastructure Implementation and Operations
  • Oversee Cyber Security Incident Response (including MSSP, Incident Handling, Crisis Management, Threat Alerting, Cyber Investigations)
  • IT and Business Unit collaboration for security architecture, engineering, implementation and operations
  • Reviews and approves access to internal IT systems that contain sensitive data
  • Oversees the handling, mitigation and communication of crisis incidents and assists, when necessary, with legal matters associated with such incidents.  Engages with the CSO, corporate and business unit/division resiliency practitioners and or champions, senior leadership, HR, IT and Legal organizations for counsel and internal/external communication when necessary
  • Collaborates effectively with cross-functional entities across the enterprise.
  • Organizational direction, time management, problem-solving, prioritization, goal setting, leadership and motivation, negotiation, interpersonal relations, verbal/written communications and human resource management.


Position Requirements:


  • Education:  Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or position related Certifications - CISSP, CISM, CIPM, CBCP
  • 8 -12 years information security and business continuity experience in a large and complex  business environment
  • 3-5 years’ experience identifying and remediation information security risks as part of a vulnerability assessment and remediation programs.
  • Proficiency with MS-Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Project. Strong knowledge of security methodologies, policies, standards and best practices.
  • Knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations.
  • Ability to draft and implement technical operational procedures and documentation.
  • Ability to clearly explain technical concepts using non-technical language.
  • Understanding of Software Development Life-cycle
  • Experience in Operational Risk models and a successful track record working with the business to reduce risk and deliver comprehensive security and privacy programs.
  • Experience working directly with Customers, representing the firm’s positions on security, risk, resiliency and privacy issues.
  • Varied experience in business impact analysis, process assessments, and business continuity planning
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret the impact of system outages and defining resiliency requirements for IT
  • Strong familiarity with technology and security policy related to resiliency and information security.  
  • A combination of strategic thinking and the ability to drive change through successful execution; demonstrated ability to solve problems and develop commercially viable solutions
  • Proven capability to lead collaborative efforts in deliberative processes to generate ideas and raise and resolve issues while maintaining momentum
