Summary

 

The Scrum Master is responsible for the promotion and successful application of Agile working within Platform Services team, part of CDK’s Global Infrastructure Services organization.  The Platform Services team is a global team, located in multiple countries which aims to provide world-class Infrastructure and Platform Services to CDK products and customers across the world. 

 

The Scrum Master will join at a time when Agile working in the Platform Services team is in its infancy and therefore there is considerable opportunity to make a big impact. 

 

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

 

  • Responsible for the successful application of Scrum within the team that make up Platform Services. 
  • Ensures the team lives by the values, principles and practices of Scrum, coaching and mentoring the team as necessary and driving continuous improvement
  • Facilitates the key scrum events including stand-ups, planning sessions and reviews as well as determining the frequency required.
  • Understands interdependencies between Scrum teams and ensures this is considering during planning and as sprints progress
  • Removes impediments and anything that stands in the way of progress
  • Ensures teams’ throughput and capability is understood and teams do not over-commit.
  • Creates and utilizes key metrics to measure, improve, and report performance to stakeholders. 
  • Assists with management of the backlogs, helping to ensure that they are in good shape, ensures stories are clear and concise and ready for the next sprint.
  • Assists with capturing requirements, and epic prioritization. 

 

Qualifications & Job Requirements

 

  • Mastery of Scrum gained through a Scrum Master or similar role within an organization
  • Experience working across multiple Scrum teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering.
  • Basic conceptual understanding of infrastructure and technologies such as data center hardware, cloud computing, virtualization, databases configuration management etc.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills with an ability to negotiate and persuade team members and key decision makers regardless of seniority
  • Ability to interact with customers to listen, organize, and champion projects.
  • Ability to listen and consider the points of view of others, collaborate and build consensus within cross-functional areas.
  • Highly motivated ‘go-getter' who is driven to achieve business results with the ability to remain positive and focused on moving forward, regardless of obstacles.

 

Preferred Skills

 

  • MBA in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering.
  • JIRA/Confluence experience
  • Understanding/experience of running agile at scale including an understanding of frameworks/techniques such as Scrum of Scrums and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry and automotive dealership environment
  • Solid project management experience/skills.
  • Experience collaborating with global teams, leadership and customers
