What will you be doing?


Accountable for the Enterprise Release Management team, supporting a global release strategy. This role will be focusing on multiple technologies and deployment methodologies, so a background in successful delivery in a diverse technology ecosystem is required. 


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop common strategies for release governance across multiple departments
  • Establish consistent release management processes
  • Facilitate cross-department coordination of release management functions
  • Track an enterprise-wide release calendar
  • Inform senior management of enterprise-wide exposure to release risk and effectively mitigate it
  • Measure release cadence and effectiveness using common metrics across the entire software portfolio
  • Create common standards and formats for release playbooks and work with production control to standardize release decision-making
  • Define common mechanisms for rollback and standards for capturing release-related performance indicators
  • Forecast demand for release resources and identify opportunities for greater efficiency across the enterprise
  • Be overall accountable for the creation of new enterprise release quality scoring and strategy
  • Manages the long term roadmap, involving product, R&D, support, services and other groups to provide the best customer experience from software upgrades
  • People management responsibility for software engineers and process engineers
  • Engage and align with R&D organization to achieve product delivery plans. Engage and align with other business stakeholders to achieve product delivery plans – operations, finance, legal, security
  • Be the evangelist for their product, internally and externally
  • Represent the process and global release activity in governance and investment decision meetings


Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in continuous delivery, release engineering, or software configuration management
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Strong knowledge of different types software development life cycles and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
  • Software development experience in modern programming languages such as Java or C#
  • Extensive knowledge of continuous delivery, continuous integration practices with experience implementing them at enterprise scale
  • Experience working in a DevOps culture
  • Experience with service oriented (SOA) or microservices architectures
  • Experience guiding highly technical engineering teams
  • Experience with Kanban and/or Scrum with the proven ability to use data to improve team performance


Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with a SaaS organization with a keen focus on customers
  • Experience delivering tools or internal services to other application development teams
  • Experience in software product development, full stack and multi-platform, is a plus
  • Good understanding of building and deploying large scale, distributed services
  • A passion for technology and the desire to continuously improve, iteratively and incrementally
  • Experience with procurement, vendor management, and deciding technology choices for an organization at scale
  • Experience administering and supporting source control, build, and deployment technologies
  • Experience building teams and leading strategic change initiatives
