Position Summary

 

The Sales Development Executive role is responsible for the successful execution of CDK Sales and Marketing strategies for the minority dealer and women in retail business segments. SDE’s may focus on one or more segment, specifically: OEM & Partnerships, Minority Dealer, and Women in Retail.   SDE’s must partner with regional sales teams to create business relationships in both CDK and Competitive Accounts in the US.  The SDE’s key focus is aligning with a high-performance sales team whose objective is to increase revenue for CDK by expanding the share of wallet of CDK customers and growing new market share through conquest sales.  Measures of success are increased share of segment, retention and increased ARR.

 

Position Responsibilities & Essential functions

 

 

Develop and implement a sales strategy to successfully grow revenues and market share in MDWR segments:

 

  • Partner with the regional DOS teams to drive sales and revenue, to retain customers and achieve competitive wins against our competitors.   Tasked with ensuring planned sales and revenue objectives are achieved within the segment.  Visit minority and women dealers, as needed, to support the sales organization in closing deals.  
  • Identify potential business opportunities through relationships with industry leaders and securing deals beneficial to CDK.   Provide leads from association events and dealer visits to ensure maximum retention efforts.
  • Maintain reporting for segment(s) with updates from the minority dealer and women in retail associations and manufacturers.
  • Present segment overview to educate CDK group on the value of the organization, i.e., New Hire Sales Training.
  • Partner closely with Marketing in formulating strategies, objectives, plans and programs addressing the target market segment. Deliver specific association ads, articles and campaigns that align with CDK’s brand.   Partner with Marketing to represent CDK at association events to meet our sponsorship deliverables.
  • Advocate for all segment customers to quickly resolve any customer issues. 
  • Represent CDK at all OEM and industry tradeshows and events
  • Support CDK Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.
  • Join in the pre-sales discovery with sales to gather data on activities required, leading to accurate date for quoting and proposal to unhook and complex add on opportunities
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with the North America Sales leadership team and other key stakeholders being the Minority Dealer Liaison to Implementation, Support, R&D and Product Marketing.
  • Ensure necessary and appropriate steps are taken to resolve difficulties which may impede progress or compromise achievement scheduled milestones.
  • Assess assigned segment and understand its makeup; provide feedback information about market conditions to baseline reps and plan sales strategy accordingly
  • Successfully integrate and maximize opportunities with an effective channel partnership strategy
  • Understand competitive landscape and develop effective strategies to aggressively attack and conquer the competition
  • Handle customer issues and satisfaction, driving efforts to increase client retention

 

 

Qualifications & Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of CDK’s business strategy, operational workings of CDK, product offerings and automotive industry is essential.
  • 6 years of experience in a CDK quota-carrying sales role, with a demonstrated track record of success or equivalent  experience
  • Expertise in participating in face-to-face client calls, closing deals, and building quality customer relationships
  • Ability to travel extensively, approximately 75% of the time, nationally
