Position Summary

The Sourcing Manager supports the Strategic Sourcing function in managing the daily demands of the Business within their respective categories, which includes selection and management of vendors as assigned. The role requires an understanding of broad indirect categories with emphasis on Professional Services and HR category management along with an executive presence to handle negotiations and vendor communications.  The ability to work with all levels of people within CDK as well as supplier organizations is important.


Position Responsibilities & Essential functions

  • Serves as the procurement contact for vendors within their respective categories.
  • Analyzes historic category spend and demand drivers.
  • Aligns spending forecasts with business objectives and procurement practices.
  • Creates collaborative partnerships with business stakeholders to plan and execute procurement activities.
  • Manages and assists Business partners in the selection of vendors through the RFx process.
  • Negotiates with vendors to minimize spend; ensures that vendor contract rates are at or below market values.
  • Audits vendor spend against forecasts, procurement governance and policy, and business needs.
  • Structures SLAs for vendor agreements in concert with business stakeholders and procurement policy.
  • Represents the organization on projects and may perform in project leadership role.
  • Works under limited supervision and exercises sound judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions when accomplishing objectives.
  • Applies a broad range of theories, concepts, principles, and methodologies to developmental assignments involving complex features.

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 6 years of procurement experience with emphasis on Marketing category management
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Strong influencing skills with issue mitigation mentality
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships
  • Established track record of developing and managing vendor relationships
  • Experience with an understanding of a service-based/SLA-based vendor delivery model
  • Solid knowledge of procurement systems/processes/tools
  • Skilled negotiator
  • Good knowledge of project management principles and techniques
  • Sense of urgency
