Position Summary


CDK is growing and we are looking for a proven sales and business development leader with “entrepreneurial spirit” to join our leadership team.  We are seeking a “hunter” who has a track record of building teams that can secure new name logos.  As the Vice President of Sales for Growth Markets, you will create and execute against strategies targeting various new and existing markets.  The successful VP will lead these sales teams to exceed revenue growth targets, sales, site retention and expansion of customer base. 


You will be responsible for creating and implementing new business development strategies, lead the performance of all sales activities in assigned markets, and identify and penetrate new markets.  The VP of Sales – Growth Markets establishes the plans and strategies to expand the breadth of CDK layered applications and services into new or existing markets.  You will work with marketing to generate sales leads and brand awareness.  You will staff and direct a team of sales professionals, providing leadership to achieve maximum profitability and growth toward company goals, vision, and values. 



Position Responsibilities & Essential functions

  • Create GTM strategy for each growth market, including org structure, building a team to scale, and customer segmentation.
  • Hire, manage and develop sales directors and associates, ensuring the team meets/exceeds stated plans.
  • Ensure sales associates are trained and effectively communicating processes related to products and services.
  • Ensure sales associates are trained and are appropriately utilizing sales tools and sales process.
  • Conduct and hold regular sales meetings with the teams
  • Monitor teams as needed to ensure activity is in place to meet assigned goals.
  • Coach Managers and reps individually based on metrics and motivational needs.
  • Set Comp plans and territories while working with the EVP, Sales Ops, and Finance.
  • Meet with each team weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually to review progress and set goals.
  • Develop leaders to ensure our growth strategies.
  • Work the other department heads to ensure work processes are followed
  • Coordinates post sell activities, such as implementation and training.
  • Help develop Marketing plans and Trade show attendance




Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 or more years sales management experience with demonstrated success in creating new go to market strategies, building teams, and delivering results
  • Demonstrated sales experience in securing new name logos
  • A Bachelor's Degree is highly desirable
  • Automotive Market knowledge along with finance or technology experience is preferred
  • Ability to present new product concepts to other departments and the marketplace
  • Ability to formulate sales plans for designated territory or region
  • Ability to succeed in a competitive, high-performance work environment
  • Team player with ability to coordinate efforts with inside and outside sales reps and other department heads
  • Strong computer skills with current technical knowledge, i.e., proficiency w/MS Office (Excel/PP)
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
