Purpose of role 

 

The Business Systems Analyst IV is responsible for analysing and evaluating business process improvement opportunities and defects, to formulate this analysis into specific requirements and to specify suitable system solutions to satisfy those requirements. This job determines and develops resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

 

•    Business facing working with business / process owners to identify process improvements, changes and confirm defects for business processes. Fully understands business processes and reasons for design
•    Works with business to build business cases for projects / programmes
•    Acts as a point of reference between Business Process Owner, Business and IT
•    Acts as Process owner delegate – in IT development sprints and testing – signs-off changes
•    Performs solution training (including both process + system = solution)
•    Assists in UAT and performs technical part of SIT (i.e. smoke test, data mapping source to target, processing logic per requirement etc.)
•    Works with project / programme managers to schedule changes
•    Works with Business Process Owner to document and prioritise change / defect requirements. Reports on solution development lifecycle progress
•    Application specialist – has detailed understanding of applications supporting business processes, capability to align application functionality to process. Can model applications to business structures and processes and can configure applications as required. Understands application functions, programs, tables, data, user access / security / controls capabilities
•    Understands how applications support process / can suggest process improvements by better alignment of app / new functionality
•    For changes / defects acts as solution architect, documents, reviews and agrees proposed solution with Business Owner
•    applies knowledge of current and future versions of Applications to align to process improvement opportunities
•    Can manage small development projects that do not require PM / internal Technical projects. Will act as IT Delivery Lead for larger PM managed projects. Responsible for Cross-Team collaboration both within IT and business
•    Acts as mentor to less experienced Business Systems Analysts through use of global application  development methodologies, tools, processes, and solution delivery
•    Brings wider knowledge / experience of solutions / best practice
•    Can support full e-2-e development - Data -> Process -> Requirement -> Integration -> Solution
 

Skills / Knowledge & Experience

  • Can work independently in regular interactions with business, in setting priorities and approach to delivering business process solutions
  • Is capable of developing and holding a trusted partner relationship with business by demonstrating significant application knowledge, understanding and empathy with business process requirements and consistent delivery of solutions meeting or exceeding expectation
  • Has gained experience across large user sites (500+), multiple industries, complex and large multi-company businesses and ideally in global or as a minimum European settings. 
  • Has 10+ years’ experience of architecting and delivering IT solutions across the full development lifecycle and covering - Data -> Process -> Requirement -> Integration -> IT Solution
  • Has experience of integration of applications both within an organisation and to external organisations preferably by way of middleware applications 
  • Substantial experience of implementing and supporting multi-site, multi-country business processes including O2C, R2P and P2P 
  • Working experience of the Agile development methodology 
  • Must be able to be on-site in Hungerford on a regular, predetermined frequency and able to travel to other business sites as required


Qualifications required

  • Degree level or professional qualification in science, mathematics, accounting, business or IT
  • Member of either of accredited professional bodies for BA’s 
  • Certification in configuration or implementation of applications in scope
