Working as part of the Desktop Engineering team, the Design & Implementation Engineer role will be responsible for running, maintaining and administering the Enterprise platforms and all related systems, processes, patching and maintenance. The Desktop Engineering team is also responsible for managing and resolving escalations from T1 and T2 end-user support teams.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Enterprise Exchange email platform
  • All items related to corporate email systems, processes, patching and maintenance
  • Manage legal holds, effectively archiving email for individuals on legal hold status
  • MS Office 365
  • Manage the office 365 tenant, including Admin tasks related to AADC, licensing, MDM, EMS, MFA
  • SCCM Policy creation/deployment
  • Maintain all services provided to the business for Windows using SCCM
  • Enterprise Identity and Access platform
  • Advanced knowledge of Azure Active Directory
  • PowerShell/Windows shell scripting
  • Custom scripts to facilitate administration as well as custom packaging and break/fix using SCCM, as well as direct SSH connections
  • MSSQL familiarity a plus
  • SQL Database Management
  • Troubleshooting/T3 escalations
  • Issues that are widespread among the Windows population
  • Image creation and deployment
  • Develop, test, and maintain Windows system configuration profiles, including a baseline build specification for all new devices deployed throughout the business.
  • Custom package building
  • Using scripting etc. to create custom solutions depending on business needs
  • Support BU maintenance of updates, security patches and certificates in order to maintain a secure service
  • Maintain the lifecycle functions from deployments to retirement of devices
  • Provide consultancy for T2 staff on both projects and operational matters
  • Mentor and increase the knowledge of other engineering staff
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows fundamentals including networking, command line, security, and file system management
  • Familiarity with cloud-hosted services such as Virtual Machines, Apache/Tomcat, IIS, AWS and other similar providers
  • Familiarity with concepts relating to creation and deployment of certificates
