The Document Control Specialist I (DCS I) is responsible for supporting the overall functions of the Audit team by collecting, filing and organizing documents.

 

**This is a part time position - up to 32 hours per week. Flexible schedule between 8:45am-5:15pm PST**

 

Position Responsibilities & Essential functions

 

  • Opens, sorts and validates inbound mail, dating and marking items received in the AVRS system; Files in receive date order; retrieves and ships paper to DMV after audit is complete; Image audited documents, ensuring all copies are legible and retrievable by both internal staff and customers
  • Supports audit team by locating and pulling documents both pre and post-audit
  • Uses document management system to research items as needed
  • Sorts and scans documents into the AVRS system in preparation to send originals to DMV
  • Prepares shipments and document contents, recording tracking information
  • Uses document management system to research items as needed
  • Understands and adheres to all BPA policies and procedures at all times
  • Document Management – Open inbound mail, sort and mark items as received
  • Scanning

 

Qualifications & Job Requirements

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • No prior experience required
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic data entry skills (Windows & IOS environments)
  • Ability to lift 20-30 lbs
  • Standing for a portion of the day
  • Pushing carts with bins of bundled paperwork

 

REFERRED ATTRIBUTES & Qualifications

 

  • Prior knowledge of California vehicle registration processes and requirements, gained from previous work at dealership, registration service or DMV field office
