Position Summary

 

Service Logistics and Repair is responsible for the repair and distribution of all technology hardware installed at CDK client sites across North America. The hardware and associated services come with SLA’s which are measured and must be met. The position requires constant monitoring of stocking levels as well as ensuring consistency and quality of hardware repairs.

  

Position Responsibilities & Essential functions

 

  • Manage, organize, plan, and direct all activities associated with service, logistics and repair operations to ensure daily operations needs are met 
  • Project management: to include special projects, new business, efficiencies improvement and quality management 
  • Manage/direct standard cost.  Determine and set MTTR for all hardware.  Work with data analyst to set yearly costs for costing analysis.
  • Perform personnel functions for all direct reports, including, but not limited to: performance planning, training, mentoring, career path, salary planning and hiring/termination decisions.
  • Tactical planning for short term goals and objectives
  • Participate in strategic planning for long term goals and objectives
  • Write monthly reports, create and monitor metrics/KPI’s, and training documentation
  • Ensure documented processes are accurate, current and consistent
  • Manage packaging for all equipment
  • Manage all test and heavy equipment
  • Control expenditures within established budgetary limits and guidelines
  • Ensure daily shipments/repairs are met, as well as ensuring inventory levels are maintained–
  • Establish and maintain SLR and corporate policies and procedures ensuring safety, process, inventory integrity, and security.  Recommendation for solutions to issues must be made
  • Manage, implement, communicate and audit all warranty and outside repair processes.
  • Manage and measure outside repair vendors.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Associates in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science,  Communications
  • Understanding of concepts/process related to distribution and production
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma and lean concepts
  • Working knowledge of Project Management methodologies and terminology
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations surrounding production and warehousing
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to manage multiple demands
  • Clear understanding of technology and computer hardware
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations is preferred
  • Ability to keep employees engaged and motivated

 

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES & Qualifications

  • Excellent and demonstrable leadership and conflict resolution skills
  • Understanding of management cost analysis and data driven decision making
  • Strong vendor negotiation skills
  • Excellent and demonstrable communication skills – written and verbal
  • BS in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science,  Communications
  • APICS certification in CPIM
  • 5 – 8 years of previous management experience in distribution, supply chain, electronics repair or production
  • Operations planning, forecasting and demand planning experience is desired
