Position Summary


The Network and Security Engineering manager provides leadership to supervisors and/or professional Network and security engineering staff and manages the day-to-day development for the team. This position’s primary focus is to plan, design, develop, and implement network and security engineering plans and wide-scale networks for customers. The Network & Security Engineering manager is accountable for the performance of the network & security engineering team and will provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and/or customers when needed.






Position Responsibilities & Essential functions


  • Manages the day-to-day development and processes for the Network & Security engineering team.
  • Monitors all activities of the network and security teams both hosted and client premise equipment.
  • Debugs and tests networks, plans projects, and performs needs assessments.
  • Provides resolution for system failures or degradations and may provide initial implementation support of network & security to assure proper execution.
  • Provides technical support in all customer interaction situations, including receipt of specifications, design, testing, and response to service requests.
  • Evaluates and implements new products available through outside vendors.
  • Implements, assesses and adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
  • Communicates departmental plans and processes to personnel so staff understands their roles/responsibilities, the purpose of the plan, and why plan adherence is crucial.
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel ensuring the efficient operation of the team.
  • Responsible for the results of the team as it relates to achievement of departmental/team goals, budget adherence, project management, resource allocation, and employee performance/development.
  • Delegates tasks and projects to staff based on resource availability, capacity, and skills to maximize efficiency within the team.
  • Ensures the integrity of deliverables and corrects any issues that may arise.



Qualifications & Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience
  • Thorough understanding of network & security engineering processes
  • Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism and integrity in all interactions
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, written and presentation skills with the ability to comfortably communicate will various levels of management throughout the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
