Fortellis Automotive Commerce Exchange™ platform, a technology engine that enables seamless connections and greater collaboration to occur among everyone involved in serving automobile consumers, such as dealers, manufacturers, software developers, lenders and data providers.

We are looking for passionate quality engineer to work in our platform team. This position is responsible for testing software features with automated scripts including but limited to integration test, performance test, user acceptance test. Candidate will be an integral player of platform team. This position is based in Austin, TX, Portland, OR, or San Jose, CA

Ideal candidate would be people who have software testing experience, especially in test automation, performance test, and executed continuous integration or someone with software developer background but has an interest in quality engineering.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Strong functional testing background, including test strategy, test planning, test case creation, test data generation and execution on all of them.
  • Proven experience in working in agile environment, preferable in enterprise agile environments with multiple scrum teams.
  • Design, write, and execute automatic functional tests for new and existing features.
  • Design, write, and execute automatic performance tests for new and existing features.
  • Maintain, improve, and expand the existing automation framework.
  • Work with operations to integrate automated tests into the deployment pipeline.
  • Work closely with other teams to identify gaps in automation coverage.
  • Debug issues identified through automation and work with the development teams to document and resolve these issues.
  • Mentor and manage other QA Engineers in automation.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical studies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong team skills.
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in authoring and execute automated testing. Experience building and using automation framework.
  • UI Test automation experience (e.g. Cypress, Protractor, Selenium) is a plus
  • Experience with JavaScript and with asynchronous code.
  • Relevant experience with PostMan, SoapUI, Fiddler, or Cucumber
  • Experience in web applications and RESTful APIs testing. Understand the uniqueness of API testing.
  • Exposure to continuous integration (Jenkins/Bamboo). Experience with Git and AWS.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
