BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION: 

  • The Switchboard Operator operates a multiple-line console and routes calls to the appropriate office or location, performs basic admin duties, cross-trains other associates as back up for the switchboard, routes all incoming telephone calls and takes messages from a multi-call telephone system, and ensures that adequate coverage is maintained at all times. They must be able to handle high stress calls and multi-tasking solutions by OCS with multi-windows opened to find the client the correct help. They will also ensure that adequate coverage is maintained at all times.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Being able to type while talking to client on the phone; either while opening a case or using OCS. Typing speed of at least 35 words a minute. 
  • Knowledge of and/or training on PC/word processing equipment and software packages preferred.
  • Being able to follow the protocol of how to reach Sup’s, Mangers or CAM’s.
  • Be able to handle high stress situations and be able to help the client get to the right department by following the protocols
  • To handle faxes correctly.
  • Keeping track of schedules; know the status of management and associates.
  • Being able to handle office projects as they are assigned. (ex. PC projects or mailers).

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must be able to type and speak with client at the same time
  • Customer services skills 
  • Team player/must work well with others 
  • Detail oriented
  • Must be able to handle high stress calls
  • Multitasking
