Purpose of role

CDK is implementing ASC 606 “Revenue from Contracts with Customers” on 1st July 2018 and this standard represents a significant change in how revenue is recognized compared to existing US GAAP. CDK has chosen to implement a new revenue recognition tool in order to automate revenue recognition under ASC 606 to the extent possible, and is partnering with EY to help implement this solution.

 

Reporting directly to the Revenue Recognition Team Lead and supporting the overall objectives of the International Controllership team, the role will be responsible for accurate monthly recording and reporting of revenues in line with CDK’s reporting timetable.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily Revenue Recognition assessments pertaining to CDK’s global policies
  • Identify the appropriate Revenue Recognition approach upon CDK’s business type
  • Produce accurate reports on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
  • Adjust revenues to comply with US GAAP
  • Ensure all processes are compliant with SOX requirements at all times
  • Escalate potential financial risk 
  • Assist in process improvements to further streamline revenue tasks and shorten revenue close cycle
  • Work in close collaboration with other internal teams within the International Controllership organization in order to support the month end process

Essential:

  • Ability to work independently, proposing appropriate accounting outcomes, based on a detailed analysis of all relevant facts
  • Strong English language skills – other language skills than English would be a plus
  • Formal professional Financial qualification

Desirable:

  • Revenue recognition exposure under US GAAP 605
  • Previous exposure to SOX compliance requirements
  • Experience of working within the technology sector
