Reporting to the EVP, Business Leader, Core DMS, the Sr. Director, Network and Telephony Products will be tasked for setting the strategy to drive this Segment (which includes Network LAN hardware, WAN, Telephony (active handsets with voice traffic), Wireless (AP’s), Network Security (GRE Tunnels, etc.).  This position sits on the Core DMS Leadership team. His/her objective is to create a blueprint for these businesses to drive customer loyalty, revenue, and growth.  This role is accountable for strategic planning and execution and P&L responsibility.

 

Willing to consider candidates that reside in Hoffman Estates, IL, Portland, OR or San Jose, CA offices.   

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ownership of the full management and positioning of Network and Telephony products, including development and execution of strategic and innovative programs that support customer acquisition/retention, differentiated customer experience, and sales objectives to drive exponential growth:
    • Serves as the Netwrk and Telephony Products thought leader helping to monitor competitor activity, identify trends/ technologies in the marketplace, evolve best practices, and test opportunities to help drive the business and deliver n key customer needs, including increasing revenue. Sets strategic pricing for this portfolio of products, creates business cases/ models, proposes decisions re: bundling/ unbundling, etc. to best drive growth.
    • Integrate/ drive synergies acrss this portfolio of products
  • Accountable for all aspects of the P&L (matrixed ownership/ dotted line to Sales, Operations, and Development). Manage annual budgeting process, forecasting, revenue, spend, ROI and other performance KPIs.
  • Responsible for providing strategic leadership for the Network and Telephony product grouping which includes: Defining the total addressable market (TAM); Assessing the total market and developing go-to-market product line growth strategy; Interfacing with customers (in partnership with the Sales organization) to better understand how we can evolve our products to best meet their needs and improve their customers’ dealership experience; Determining whether new products should be developed internally or added to our portfolio through acquisition
  • Managing revenue and making financial business decisions as necessary to drive growth targets
  • Drive strategy and process across the Network and Telephony Products team, setting goals/priorities and using metrics to ensure resources are focused on the right initiatives and working close with other functions across the organization to ensure timely completion.
  • Must also be able to collaborate effectively and determine who and where the influencers are, empower the influencers with tools to drive the message and brand across the segment, and listen to the internal and external community, engaging in bi-directional dialogue with customers. Partners with broader leadership team to influence, educate and support the rollout of key digital capabilities.
  • Constantly seek optimization and growth through performance and root-cause analysis, customer segmentation, creative partnerships and more.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES:  

  • Bachelor's degree required; particularly in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, or Business Administration; Master's Degree preferred.
  • 15+ years experience, including experience in related P&L positions within a fast paced organization of approximately $150M
  • Well-versed in strategic planning processes to drive transformation and growth. In doing so, effectively influences leaders on the strategic direction and leads teams to execute on tactical details.
  • Must possess financial acumen, budgeting, financial forecasting and P&L experience (driving NPV and margin)
  • Self-driven to provide direction for Network and Telephony solutions by building internal systems and processes to consistently drive and deliver results
  • Agility to work cross functionally and across a large, complex matrixed business to accomplish results
  • Strong executive-level communication skills (written and verbal) with a number of constituencies, including customers, employees, etc.
  • Proven record of business results and in measuring success via KPIs (acquisition, conversion, and ROI)
  • Superior leadership skills including proven expertise in decision-making
  • Aptitude to foster a culture to attract top talent that inspires creativity and innovation
  • Track record of driving rapid change, transformation and growth
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment
  • Specific experience/ knowledge of this product’s marketplace is required (Automotive experience a plus)
