CDK Global is looking for a Vice President Product Management who has successfully incubated new technology ventures in a larger enterprise software company. He/she has a track record of building and scaling highly effective product management teams and working collaboratively with global R&D.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President Product Management, the Vice President Product Management will drive high-impact, cross-functional projects creating the foundation for big data and shared services to be leveraged internally across  products and externally through the Fortellis Automotive Commerce Exchange. 

The ideal candidate for this role has a background in building and scaling enterprise platforms, strong technical and business acumen, and vision to deliver powerful platform software that transforms the industry.

Position Responsibilities & Essential functions

 

  • Significant experience in building a world-class product management organization, operating as a player/coach to develop, mentor, and scale the product management organization. Experience in driving agile methodology into product management.
     
  • Define the strategy and roadmap for data and shared services platforms used by partners, and dealers. Leverage your deep market and technical knowledge of platforms, big data, ML/AI to partner with R&D to build and then create new offers to market leveraging big data and common services.
     
  • Define the strategy and roadmap to scale the Fortellis automotive commerce exchange platform, leveraging your experience in incubating new enterprise software technology to create a differentiated developer and consumer marketplace experience.
     
  • Collaborate cross-functionally sales and marketing to gain market, competitive, and customer insights and translate that into outcomes that drive unique value proposition, differentiation, and market share growth. Collaborate with R&D to translate market requirements into innovative new technology and with support to deliver solutions that have fast time-to-value and accelerate time-to-revenue.
     
  • Lead the strategic business analysis around build, buy, and partner. Leverage your extensive experience in partnerships to create products that build and extend a broad automotive ecosystem
     
  • Evangelize the data, shared services and Fortellis platforms internally and externally. Participate in the industry to drive adoption of Fortellis platform.
     

 

Qualifications & Job Requirements

 

  • Minimum of 10 years in product management with at least 7 years in managing sizeable team of product managers (15+). Experience is building, mentoring, and scaling a product management organization in Enterprise software company
     
  • Specific experience in building the strategy and roadmaps for enterprise software platforms, including defining and launching modern SaaS analytics, AI/ML, and/or developer platforms to market.
     
  • Proven track record in scaling new product innovations, working with highly matrixed organization to create not only the product strategy and roadmap, but the processes required to drive profitable execution.
     
  • Experience in developing software that is used by a broad partner and developer ecosystem and to work with sales and marketing teams to ensure 3rd parties have the right APIs, tooling, and support to scale their operations.

 

  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communication/presentation skills with strong ability to influence people at all levels and in various functions.
     
  • BA/BS required, in Computer Science or related technical degree preferred, MBA desirable.
