CDK Global is hiring a Creative Director/Team Manager for our Digital Agency team in Seattle.  We are looking for a Creative Director  who is driven by producing and leading teams to turn out visually stunning digital creative.

 

As the creative director you will guide all design team members and manage their day-to-day activities.  You will also lead projects and are responsible for the overall quality of work produced by the creative department.  The creative director uses their elevated soft skills to inspire creativity amongst a plethora of skill levels on the team. You also juggle a large variety of  projects and team members and must therefore have stellar communication, presentation, problem-solving and project and people management skills.  You understand that designers often work in a world that is not black and white and you can navigate those grey areas.

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring overall quality of  visual output of the Digital Creative team – you have a passion for visually stunning creative and drive the team to same
  • Overseeing the creative process, ensuring visual communication and brand standards are met. This may require the strict adherence to OEM compliance documents and processes
  • Improving quality of creative output by evaluating work, troubleshooting and providing feedback to associates
  • Reviewing and approving creative for all templates, advertising, web designs, dealer group-based creative, RFPs and other high-profile sales requests and other creative projects that are assigned to the team.
  • Understanding design teams’ competencies, coach, assess, and partner with Design Manager to assign projects to appropriate designers and further design capabilities of team
  • Leading interviews and training new members of creative team
  • Overseeing content strategy and copywriting for all new launches, demo sites, and presentations
  • Serves as the creative expert for the team and sets the tone and voice for CDK digital creative properties
  • Serving as final point for creative escalations, driving all to resolution
  • Translating creative objectives into clear creative deliverables for design team
  • Determining production requirements by reviewing client requirements; considering scheduling and resource factors

 

As the Creative Director/Team Manager we’ll trust you with:

  • Setting the tone for all digital artifacts and working to infuse this vision across the organization
  • Expertly presenting and pitching ideas and creative solutions to internal and external clients
  • Collaborating with Program Manager to obtain appropriate internal or external client approvals
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams, including Product & Services to ensure creative needs are met for all parties
  • Collaborating with Program Manager to map out creative calendar (roadmap) and adjust course as needed
  • Collaborating and partnering with Program Manager to expand and manage creative library for both web and advertising

 

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience managing designers in an agency setting and experience coaching employees
  • Degree in Graphic Design and/or demonstrated graphic design expertise with concentration in Digital Marketing
  • 7+ years of related experience in digital marketing creative, or equivalent agency experience
  • Photoshop expert level and superior Adobe Creative Suite knowledge
  • Working knowledge and experience with CSS and HTML
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation and pitch skills, with focus on presenting creative solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to defend creative decisions and influence/consult clients with on creative best practices
  • Leads by example and sets tone for team
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‐functional teams in a fast‐paced and constantly changing environment

Preferred experience with:

  • Working for a digital design shop or agency with teams such as UX, Copy, Design and Production
  • Working for or within a large consumer brand, retail or ecommerce company
  • Understanding brand compliance and holding team accountable to same
  • Process improvement, Lean Six Sigma or similar
