Systems Administrator provides technical services and support for corporate users and systems as well as remote systems.  Services provided include on-site computer, server and network support, and support of remote systems.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Configure, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot and support computer workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, phones and other computer and telecommunications equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and application support for remote employees.
  • Assist with the support of the IP based phone system.
  • Support users’ mobile communications devices including mobile phones, smart phones and tablets.
  • Support of multifunction office printers and desktop printers.
  • Ensure all end-user equipment is up to date with security patches and feature upgrades.
  • Diagnose and resolve unique, nonrecurring problems associated with application software and operating systems; determine the source of problems and classify their level, priority and nature.
  • Participate in hardware and software reviews and recommend purchases.
  • Maintain inventory of installed software and hardware.
  • Work with hardware and software vendors to verify timely product delivery and ensure that equipment is installed and ready to operate on schedule.
  • Analyze and ensure end-user computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers and administrative systems.
  • Document procedures, standards, best practices configurations, settings, installation sequences and back-out instructions.

 

Required Technical Skills:

  • Experience with Windows operating systems.
  • Hands-on hardware repair, installing operating systems and applications.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Active Directory and Networking Protocols.
  • Good understanding of basic desktop troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent customer service, communications, and professional demeanor who enjoys working with people from all levels of the company.
  • Availability for after-hours on-call support.
  • Some travel (~3 weeks per year) for orientation of other corporate offices, training, etc.

Beneficial Skills (helpful, but not required):

  • Windows Server 2012 and 2016
  • VMware virtualization (Horizon, vCenter, vSphere)
